Reno has a great sense of community and is truly a place you can call home. Laura Turpack My move to Reno was originally going to be short term. I wanted to move out of Los Angeles as quickly as possible. The traffic and smog were eating away at me. I decided to try Reno since there were 15 ski resorts within an hour of the city. Four years later, I have decided to call Reno home. No traffic! No smog! And people are laid back here. And I can be in the mountains in 25 minutes, which makes it perfect for an early afternoon out of work. I realized that I got both of those things after working a half day at the hospital and then driving up to the ski resort for a half day of tree skiing on my secret spot on the mountain.
